Drug intoxication
Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is called to a local pub on Friday night to help a 25-year old man who is unconscious. He is found on the floor motionless and does not react to calling or physical contact. What EMS should do is:
To control and check his breathing and blood circulation, check external injuries, bleeding, identify Glasgow Coma Scale, connect patient to ECG machine, discover case history of people present in the bar.
Give patient 20-50 mL of 40% glucose intravenously or 1 mg of glucagone intramuscularly to cure hypoglemic coma and transport patient to hospital.
Clinical examination, blood, urine and stool collection for biochemical tests.
The first thing that a doctor does is to define the history of other people and after dicovering it he checks and controls breathing of the patient, connects him to ECG machine and orders transport to hospital.
