Crush syndrome

40-year-old man, crushed by fallen scaffolding. His pelvis and both legs are crushed. The weight of the scaffolding is 150 kg. His co-workers found him after returning from lunch break. They did not see the accident happen. Upon questioning: "What happened?" , the injured man is able to reply that he had fallen down from approximately 3 meters height and the concrete wall together with the scaffolding fell onto him. This happened about 15 minutes ago. The ambulance is called immediately. What should the co-workers do until EMS arrives?
