Difficult Airway Management in pregnancy
A 28-year-old woman in 3rd trimester of pregnancy (38th week of gestation) was admitted to the hospital with painful contractions, which occured in a roughly 10-minute interval and the amniotic sac ruptured. How would you proceed?
Help
I would send the patient home. She shall return once the contraction period shortens to 5 minutes.
I would take patient history, including obstetric histrory, vital signs, followed by a pelvic examination.
I would do nothing. The process of giving a birth is natural and doesn't require any interference in any case.
