Haemolytic uremic syndrome

A 3-year-old boy Aleš Nový has been suffering from abdominal pain, fever and vomiting for three days. Also bloody diarrhea appeared this morning. Mother arrives with her son in the afternoon at the emergency department due to the deteriorating condition. She says that her son is not urinating since this morning.
After arriving at the emergency department, the doctor tried to find out what happened. He also examined the boy and found out that around a week ago, the family celebrated his mother’s birthday. They spent the afternoon in the garden enjoying barbecue and eating beef burgers, which Aleš also tasted.
What leads us to the fact that it is probably not just a common gastroenteritis?
